About Sherlene McIntosh
Sherlene McIntosh is the daughter of the late Andy and Edna Jones, whom she lovingly describes as "the best parents in the world."
She is a proud alumna of Rutgers University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology, and pursued graduate studies at The George Washington University.
Sherlene enjoyed a distinguished 33-year career as a public servant at the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C., where she held various managerial roles until her retirement in 2014.
Currently, Sherlene serves on the ministerial team as the Executive Assistant to Bishop Lynda Brown-Hall, Pastor of Nevertheless Outreach Ministry Church. She was licensed to preach the gospel on June 4, 2022, and was ordained on August 5, 2023. In addition, she serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator, playing a vital role in distributing Narcan kits, fentanyl test strips, and educational materials. She is deeply committed to raising awareness about drug use, mental health, and the resources available to those in need.
Sherlene is also an active member of Toastmasters International, where she has earned the organization's highest distinction, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). She has held numerous leadership positions and takes pride in helping others grow through communication and leadership development.
Her passion for education is reflected in her past service as the Director of an educational and tutorial program, supporting students from elementary through college.
Sherlene is the President and CEO of McIntosh Voices, an organization dedicated to mentoring and coaching individuals and families in the DMV area. Her heart for service is evident in her outreach to the unhoused and those battling addiction. She is especially passionate about helping people find direction and hope.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and listening to all genres of music—especially jazz. She is the proud mother of two adult sons, Jason and Matthew, whom she considers "simply awesome and amazing."
Above all, Sherlene’s love for God is central to her life. Her favorite scripture is:
